Lawmakers favorable to our cause??
by Junction-Guy inevery now and then we find a newspaper reporter or a tv reporter who is favorable to our cause, and wants to help expose the pedophile and blood issue in the jw's.
my question is, do we have anyone in the us congress who is willing to do the same?
are there any state legislators who are aware of our issues and are willing to help?

I forgot to mention something. Understand that politicians are shameless whores. A contribution, even a small one, goes a long way with politicians. Its amazing what as little as $100 will do to your status. You'll go from being just another citizen to SUPPORTER as fast as you can hand the check over. Be forewarned. If you do donate to politicians you can expect your mailbox to be full of pleas for more cash.

A good way to find out if a politician is interested in any given topic is to write a letter or email. I've written several letters over the years on different topics and have always gotten a reply of some sort (sometimes the reply was just boilerplate). Find out who your Congressional Delegation is, two senators and one representative, and get in touch. If you ever hear of a meet and greet function go to it. You stand a pretty good chance of getting some face time with the politician. At the very least you'll have an opportunity to chat with a staffer. Remember to get that staffers name for future reference. Here's a link to help find your Congressional Delegation:

Chicago sighting.
by Woodsman ini thought it was interesting that the pilots who saw a hovering craft were dismissed as having seen a strange cloud.. this is remarkably similiar to the bibles phraseology of the israelites seeing jehovah in a "thick cloud" etc.. also these pilots work in the clouds day in and day out.
i think they know the difference between a cloud and an object.

i work for a large company (over 550 employees) and as such, romantic and or sexual relationships between employees tend to develop every once in a while.

If you think she is interested in you ask her for her home phone number. If she gives it to you that'll confirm she is interested and you will call her and ask her out. If she declines giving out the number, then her interest beyond work flirting doesn't exist. Either way you will know. Don't worry about the age difference. I would say the important thing is to act quickly. If she has been showing interest with little response from you she will grow weary of the whole thing and move on to someone else while you kick yourself for being indecisive. I noted that in your posts you mentioned marriage and transfering if it doesn't work out. Slow down a bit. One step at a time.

JWs funerals.......forget about the dead person lets preach!
by new boy ingod forbid you would talk about the person at his funeral............what do most people get after living 70-80 years..........a 5-10 minutes eulogy....................the transition statment is "let me tell you about what fred really believed in".............................45 minutes later.....that way the specker can count his time.. as we know people in the organization are unimportant living or dead.

I don't want to be macabre here but you can plan your own funeral and make the plan part of your last will and testament. Just make sure that the executor is someone you can trust to follow your wishes. I don't care to get into details, but I do have a clause in my final papers that if my wishes regarding my funeral are not followed my estate will go to my hometown Lutheran church.

cortizone shot,anyone???
by aquagirl inhey,i know this is a bit um,off topic,but i am told that i have to get a cortizone shot in my heel due to plantar faciitus..anyone have any first hand experiance about what i can expect?
am envisioning a huge knitting needle like device jammed into the delicate already sore bones in my heel,causing great agony and pain and armageddon like conditions..anyone,any thoughts?

I think I had the same thing in my heel. I wore a ski boot looking contraption to bed every night for a couple of weeks and did some other therapy exercises and the pain went away never to be felt again. I did have a cortizone shot in a shoulder and the relief overshadowed whatever pain was inflicted by the needle. The shoulder has been trouble free ever since.

by MinisterAmos inmost of you have already scoped out the wt lesson for yesterday that blondie provided, but i'm going to add to it a bit and share the audience comments for the meeting.. i'm also going to share some direct-from-the-gb "new-light" that was revealed by the speaker in his discussion.....ready?.
so the wife and i are on vacation yesterday and visit a congregation located in western fl or east al; floribama as the natives call it.. the speaker began by telling us that the "happy god" isn't really happy because of the state of the world.
i forgot to ask him where that fact is found in the bible.
